Visited in person by Dr. Katherine Kennedy. Personally experienced
I arrived in Dubai expecting to be impressed by height and left more impressed by systems — cooling, transit, water, logistics.
The most memorable hours were the least photogenic: an abra across the creek for a single dirham, and a genuinely dark desert sky an hour from a skyline.
My complete account, with dates and specific places, will be published here.
Dubai is the clearest reminder that infrastructure is a kind of architecture. — Dr. Katherine Kennedy
